Auditions for Actors and Singers will be considered after their submission of their resume'. There will be several opportunities to audition . At this time I am concerned to meet those aspiring to become a permanent part of this newly forming theatrical company. These individuals will be held to a different standard then those that will be chosen at the general open call. I will expect more from them in terms of perseverance, versatility and dedication then I will expect from the seasoned pros that will answer the general open call . What I am hopeing for is that those that answer this first call will be with me for years to come and appear in other Musicals that I am working on. The character parts I have open at this time are :

Vincent van Gogh;

Vincent's character goes through complex changes in this Musical. We experience him as a somewhat polished naieve youth in his teens at the beginning of the Musical and he quickly transforms to the rough edged character that we might percieve him as in the self portrait on the right of this page. He is either a Tenor or Baritone. and a virtuoso The score concerning Vincent is flexible and will accomodate either. His age varies between about 20 and 37. He is a much older 37 though, being well worn around the edges.

Theo van Gogh;

Theo is Vincent's younger brother and is quite almost 'birdlike'in his lightness of being. he is a Tenor and an Absolute Virtuoso. In age he will appear from teen aged to about mid thirties by the end of the play.

Anna van Gogh

She is quite young, in her teens, but mature. She is an Alto. She sings a devastating song ' A Single Bright and Friendly Star', a little ways into Act I. She must have powerful emotional command...and...I guess she will have to be a virtuoso as well. Whoever plays the part of Anna, may be required to double on some other parts as well.

Priority will of course be given to singing ability over acting, but everything will be carefully considered and weighed before any decisions are made.
